COBB Tuning is proud to announce the availability of separate Upper and Lower Intercooler Hard-Pipe Kits for the Mitsubishi EVO X. The individual kits have all of the impressive features and quality of the original full kit, just separated to give enthusiasts more choices when looking to upgrade this area of the vehicle.

As with all intercooler hard-pipe kits, the stock rubber hoses to the intercooler are replaced with solid pipes to eliminate distortion under boost. But the devil is in the details, and that is where similarities end. Both the COBB EVO X Intercooler Upper Hard-Pipe Kit and Lower Hard Pipe Kit consist of single piece pipes made from mandrel bent aluminum tubing. The results are weld-free pipes from the turbo outlet to intercooler inlet, and from the intercooler outlet to the throttle body, without unsightly mid-pipe silicone hose couplings that can disrupt flow or potentially blow off under boost. The pipe diameter has increased from the stock 2.375” to 2.5”, enhancing flow even further. All pipe-ends are formed and employ stainless steel t-bolt clamps to prevent hose blow-off.

The COBB EVO X Intercooler Upper Hard-Pipe Kit consists of the hot-side pipe, the By-Pass-Valve (BPV) pipe, a unique COBB logo bridge that connects the BPV hard-pipe to the hot side hard-pipe, 5-ply silicone couplers, stainless steel t-bolt hose clamps and all required hardware. The COBB EVO X Intercooler Upper Hard-Pipe kit is one of the very few that will fit with the factory air box in place (or the optional COBB SF Intake) as well as the stock front engine cover. This kit is available in smooth dark-gray powdercoat with COBB Blue silicone couplers and crinkle-black powdercoat with Stealth Black silicone couplers.

The COBB EVO X Intercooler Lower Hard-Pipe Kit consists of the cold-side pipe with integrated BPV outlet, 5-ply silicone couplers and stainless steel t-bolt hose clamps. This kit is also available in smooth dark-gray powdercoat with COBB Blue silicone couplers and crinkle-black powdercoat with Stealth Black silicone couplers.

NEW! COBB Tuning Adjustable IWG Bracket



The COBB Tuning Adjustable IWG Bracket is the first of its kind, and the most versatile and reliable way to keep a turbocharger’s internal wastegate closed when using an external wastegate setup. The Adjustable IWG Bracket can be installed quickly, adjusted for perfect fitment on many different turbos, and can be removed just as easily to return a turbo to its original configuration.

The COBB Adjustable IWG Bracket replaces the internal wastegate actuator and locks the wastegate in a fully closed position. This is a superior solution to welding the wastegate door closed, which is a time-consuming, expensive and irreversible process. The COBB Adjustable IWG Bracket is easy to install and bolts into place and adjusts quickly using simple hand tools.

Not all turbos are made exactly the same, and there can be variations in housings, center cartridges, clocking, etc. A single position internal wastegate bracket may not accommodate these variations and fail to close the wastegate completely, which will result in poor turbo response and lower maximum boost. The COBB Adjustable IWG Bracket takes the worry of turbo-component variance out of the equation and allows proper adjustment, every time, on a variety of different turbos that a non-adjustable internal wastegate bracket simply cannot match.

The COBB Adjustable IWG Bracket’s advantage lies in its unique adjustable rod-end linkage. The turnbuckle center section features right-hand and left-hand threads to make adjustment as easy as rotating it one direction or the other to shorten or lengthen it. The rod-end linkage and through-bolt allow high misalignment for maximum adjustability. The bracket itself is made from a single piece of 11-Gauge steel and incorporates slotted bolt holes for additional adjustability and turbo compatibility. The custom spade-bolt that connects to the wastegate arm, the bracket, and the turnbuckle are black zinc coated for an attractive finish that is corrosion resistant. All hardware for install is included in this kit.

The COBB Tuning Adjustable IWG Bracket offers maximum turbo compatibility, simple installation and is easily adjustable to ensure complete wastegate closure to get the maximum performance from your specific setup.

Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust breaks twin-car loop world record




We kind of expected this. The Americans, as they are, have gone one bigger than Top Gear UK's valiant double-loop and set a new (and entirely made up) Guinness World Record for looping two cars at the same time.
Top Gear USA host, Tanner Foust (yellow car), and stuntman Greg Tracy took to the 66-foot Hot Wheels loop simultaneously at 52mph - pulling a fighter pilot-like seven Gs in the process - at the annual X-Games in Los Angeles.

NJ Street Racer Crashes, Splits Car in Half



A 26 year old New Jersey man wrecked his Honda Civic while street racing a friend's Acura. He somehow survived with only a leg injury, even though his car literally split in two after sideswiping a telephone pole and crashing into a tree. The driver was issued summonses for reckless driving and operating a vehicle without insurance.
